The origin of languages has always been an issue of discussion. Throughout the history several theories about how the first language came into existence have been put forward.Here are a few of them;

The divine theory suggests that the language was given to humankind by God himself.Even if human beings were allowed to grow up without hearing a single sound, they would still start to speak the God-given language.

The natural sound theory , on the other hand, claims that humans started to speak upon imitating the sounds such as the sound of a river or bird etc .

The genetic source theory suggests that, we humans were genetically programmed to speak right from the birth. So even without input, we would still start to speak a language.
